Customer Service and Production Planner

We manufacture feed products for the aquatic industry.  At our manufacturing plant in Tooele, UT, we have an opening for a customer service sales representative/production planner.  This position requires the ability to positively interact with customers over the phone and educate and guide them when re-ordering feed products or when selecting new products.  Math skills are required.  In addition, you will be challenged to learn and provide production planning and scheduling for the production of the feed in the facility.  This position requires experience working on the computer with complex ordering and inventory software programs, knowledge of fish and their nutritional needs, and an understanding of the manufacturing processes. You will be asked to maintain a positive image while representing our company and diligently solve customer issues to encourage repeat business.  A background in biology and strong customer services experience will be a plus.

Order Entry:
  • Our proprietary software system enters orders, releases them to production and ultimately oversees the shipping process to assure they are delivered on schedule. You will be responsible for obtaining accurate order data from customers and entering it timely and correctly into the computer.
  • You will ensures that correct codes are used when entering orders and managing shipments.    
  • You will maintains active orders and post sales and manufacturing activity in software system such as order and scheduling changes. 
Sales and Customer Service, you will:
  • Receive telephone requests for price quotations, orders, and order changes.
  • Follow-up on order inquiries in a quick and timely manner. 
  • Provide confirmations on orders/changes within a 24 hour period.
  • Direct inquiries to appropriate departments.
  • Service customer complaints; and document any feed credit requests.
  • Be knowledgeable of products and pricing.
Paperwork and Documentation:
  • Ensure all of the following are filled out, completed and filed:
    • Manual order forms
    • Customs documents
    • Customer complaint files
Production Planning:
  • Learn and assist with production planning and scheduling of feed production for the plant operations.
Inventory and Invoicing:
  • Enter accurate data to account for all outbound finished products.
  • Reconcile freight invoiced to customers.
Performs other related duties as required.

Required: Bachelor's of Science in Biology or similar degree or strong knowledge of aquatic nutrition needs. 2 years of customer service experience in a challenging environment, and 1 year of experience with using a production or inventory program.
