We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer with hands-on experience with low and medium voltage power systems utilized by heavy, industrial processing equipment in an industrial facility setting. The candidate should have knowledge on electrical power distribution, synchronous and induction motors, generators, switchgears, motor control centers, protection relays, cable sizing and grounding, compressed air, water systems, and steam generation.  The candidate should be able to conduct assessments, surveys and analyses on process equipment with electrical motors, circuit breakers, UPSs, battery chargers, and provide report of equipment conditions and make recommendations. Candidate will also be responsible for management of related safety programs, training, budget, maintenance coordination, and general operations.  Candidate will provide valuable support to plant expansion efforts and be supported by a highly skilled and knowledgeable team. Some of these duties will include the following:
  • To ascertain problems, define scope of projects, develop solutions, and evaluate alternatives.
  • Work with Management and Executive Management responding to inquiries or presenting conclusions of studies.
  • Frequent working contact with internal departments such as maintenance and with suppliers of data and information such as estimating engineers, construction engineers, accountants, programmers, etc.
  • Leading troubleshooting of the electrical system upsets and investigation of faults and trips that might have occurred in the plant.
  • Develop reports of recommendations by applying accepted engineering principles, codes and standards.
  • Conduct assessments, survey and analyses of electrical motors, circuit breakers, UPSs, battery chargers, and provide report of equipment conditions results with recommendations.
  • Participate and review any related conceptual designs, project proposals and detail design of capital projects or maintenance projects.
  • Review employee suggestions, standards, drawings, innovation ideas, etc.
  • Prepare power consumption and forecast reports.
Minimum Requirements:  B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering degree with same experience. 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial environment. Experience performing engineering studies, design development, and project control.
