Dynamic, stable company, needs a creative Product Development Manager/Sr. Chemist to help us strengthen our leadership in the chemical  industry with innovation, research, formulation and development of chemical and equipment products. Successful candidates will possess the ability and desire to drive systematic improvements to chemicals, equipment, processes, and procedures in support of our product lines.
Duties:
  • Manage new product innovation and development.
  • Manage small lab team.
  • Research, formulate and develop chemical and equipment products.
  • Complete MSDS for chemical products and classify according to U.S. and international transportation guidelines
  • Address specific scientific questions and provide laboratory support.
  • Develop and oversee the QC program from manufacturing and franchise operations.
  • Develop and execute qualification and validation tests for new chemical and equipment products.
  • Identify and develop new products and processes critical to industry leadership with input from the training and operations departments and customers.
  • Identify, develop and implement new methods or processes for the analysis, application, or production of these new solutions. 
  • Plan and execute research programs involving development and formulation of proprietary materials into other products
  • Conduct customer laboratory services, such as testing efficacy, trouble shooting and solution generation
  • Focus and prioritize projects and assume responsibility for their success
  • Work closely with others to ensure that new technologies are developed in an efficient and timely fashion
  • Actively participate in identifying research areas that could lead to the development of new products
  • Interact with regulatory affairs, marketing, sales, quality assurance and operations frequently from ideation through commercialization.
  • Interact with customers to address any technical or regulatory questions and provide solutions to problems
  • Write, review, and approve various professional documents, for both internal and external use
  • Provide budgetary management and planning for activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of patents and other IP decisions
    Skills/Qualifications:
    Prefer a Master’s Degree in analytical chemistry or related field with 4 -10  years of formulation experience
  • Proven track record of successful development of products and equipment
  • Accomplishments in commercialization by taking products based on new technologies to market successfully is required
  • Experience as an effective project and personnel leader
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and motivated by accomplishment
  • Excellent scientific skills in experimental design, data collection, and analysis are required
  • Strong experimental design and problem solving skills
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels, from management to customer
  • Ability to work in a rapidly enhancing environment
  • Project management skills, including forecasting skills, project planning, and development of project timelines.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects efficiently.
