Job Summary:
Directs and coordinates manufacturing operations, through a team of functional managers and supervisors, in strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability.  Develops and implements long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth initiatives.  Formulates and administers organizational policies to support strategic direction.
Essential Functions
  • Participates in formulating and administering company policies, directing and coordinating activities to develop and implement long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth initiatives.
  • Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis, production, materials, quality, engineering, finance, and human resources for the facility.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and facility challenges to ensure cost containment and to prevent operational delays and meet growth objectives.
  • Reviews analyses of manufacturing costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Develops, reviews, updates and implements business strategic planning, financial performance and production scheduling.
  • Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operations.
  • Confers with VP Operations and other departments to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions to ensure the company’s operational priorities are aligned with total company direction.
  • Reviews and approves preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning and submittal for capital expenditures.
  • Manages deployment of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, EHS, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, and plant performance measures.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manages and provides operational support to Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, EHSS and Facility Management.Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University in Mechanical Engineering, or related field, with five plus years’ experience managing a plant or multiple departments of a manufacturing operation with international exposure.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or training in Six Sigma, Principles of Lean, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems, Cellular Manufacturing, and Kaizen events.Job shop environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, and customers.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations.Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is designated to an office location and occasionally works on the production floor near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to dust, heat and sounds and noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable. 

May require exposure to hazardous equipment or physical/chemical hazards; requires wearing protective and/or safety equipment when on production floor. Safety glasses with side shields and steel-toe shoes are required in all areas of the production floor.

Work requires meeting performance deadlines and being exact or highly accurate; requires face-to-face interaction with individuals/teams and working with others in a group or team using participative management style with interpersonal skills.
